Based in Columbia, working within about 45 minutes in every direction. Mobilization is in the price.
We are based in Columbia, Missouri and run demolition, concrete removal and site work within about 45 minutes of it. That circle covers Columbia, Jefferson City, Fulton, Moberly, Fayette, Boonville, Ashland and the rest of Mid-Missouri, plus the smaller towns and rural properties in between. Mobilization for the excavator, trucks and crew is built into the fixed price on every job, so a teardown in Fulton is priced the same way as one across town. Farther jobs just need to be big enough to justify moving the equipment.
If your town is not on that list, it does not mean we skip it. Sturgeon, Holts Summit, Kingdom City, Auxvasse, Mexico, Pilot Grove, New Franklin and California are all inside or near the circle and get the same pricing model. The four Boone County towns below used to have their own pages. They are folded in here because the work, the drive and the permit process are the same as the rest of the county.
Centralia sits on the Boone and Audrain county line, about 25 minutes northeast of Columbia up Route B. Most of what we do there is residential: older houses past the point of repair, mobile homes coming off rural lots, and barns and machine sheds that have outlived the farm. Concrete removal comes up on the same properties, usually a cracked drive or a slab where a shed used to stand, and we replace driveways when the owner wants one back.
Permits depend on which side of the line you are on. Inside Centralia city limits, the city has its own building office and issues demolition permits. Outside the limits on the Boone County side, Boone County Resource Management handles it; on the Audrain side, the county has its own process. We sort that out on the site visit. The Missouri DNR asbestos inspection applies either way, and utility disconnects are coordinated before the teardown. Site work finishes the job: the hole backfilled and compacted, the lot graded, seeded and strawed.
Hallsville is northern Boone County, about 15 minutes from Columbia on Route B. It is close enough that a Hallsville job runs on the same schedule as one in town. The work is mostly house and mobile home teardowns on acreage lots, barn and outbuilding removal, and concrete removal ahead of a new driveway or shop pad. A fair number of these properties are being cleared for new construction, so we build the pad and put in the gravel drive on the way out when the owner wants it.
Almost all of Hallsville-area work is outside city limits, which means Boone County Resource Management issues the demolition permit. Inside the small city limits, the county still handles building permits under an agreement with the city, but we confirm that for each address. Electric is usually Boone Electric Cooperative and the disconnect is coordinated before we mobilize. The Missouri DNR asbestos inspection is required before most teardowns regardless of location.
Harrisburg is western Boone County, about 20 minutes from Columbia out Route 124. It is rural, and the jobs match: farmhouses and mobile homes that are being replaced, barns and grain sheds coming down, and old concrete from feedlots, milk houses and equipment pads. Access is usually easy, with room to stage trucks and no neighbors 10 feet away, which keeps the demolition price down compared to a tight city lot. Distance to the landfill is a little longer, and that shows up in the disposal pass-through, which we price at actual loads and tonnage.
Harrisburg is unincorporated for most purposes, so Boone County Resource Management is the permit office for demolition. The Missouri DNR asbestos inspection still applies to most structures, including old farmhouses with asbestos siding or floor tile. We coordinate the inspection and any abatement, then take the building down and leave the site backfilled, graded and seeded or graveled.
Rocheport is on the Missouri River in western Boone County, about 15 minutes from Columbia on I-70. The town itself is small and historic, so most demolition there is selective: taking a failing addition off an older house, removing a collapsed outbuilding, or breaking out and replacing concrete around a property that is being renovated rather than replaced. Outside town, along the river bottoms and up the bluffs, the work looks like the rest of rural Boone County: full house and mobile home teardowns, barn removal, and driveway replacement.
Inside Rocheport city limits, the town coordinates building matters through Boone County, so Boone County Resource Management is the permit office for demolition either way. Older structures in Rocheport are more likely to have asbestos or lead materials, so the Missouri DNR asbestos inspection is not a formality there. Some river-bottom lots have floodplain considerations that affect what can be rebuilt; we flag that on the site visit so you know before the teardown, not after.
The 45-minute circle covers eight counties. Permit offices differ by county and by whether the property is inside a city limit, and we confirm the right office for every address before we write the proposal.
The process does not change with the zip code. A site visit to measure the structure or slab and check access. A written fixed-price proposal covering mobilization, equipment and crew, with disposal shown as a pass-through at actual loads and tonnage, $40 to $90 per ton in Mid-Missouri. Permits and utility disconnects coordinated before we mobilize. One to three days of work for most residential teardowns and concrete removals. The site left backfilled, graded and seeded or graveled.
Not sure whether your address is inside the circle? Call (573) 234-6641 or get a written bid with a few photos and the address. If it is too far for the job size, we will tell you that instead of padding the price.
About 45 minutes in any direction. That takes in Jefferson City to the south, Fulton and Kingdom City to the east, Moberly and Centralia to the north, and Boonville and Fayette to the west, along with every small town and rural road in between. We will go a little past that for a large job, such as a commercial building or a multi-structure farm cleanup, because the extra drive is a small share of the total. We will not go that far for a single shed or patio slab; the mobilization would cost more than the work.
No. Mobilization for the excavator, trucks and crew is built into the fixed price on every proposal, whether the job is in Columbia or in Boonville. What changes with distance is the size of job that makes sense. A house teardown in Fulton or Moberly is priced the same way as one in town. A very small job at the edge of the service area may not pencil out, and if that is the case we say so on the phone rather than sending a number with a trip charge hidden in it. Disposal is always passed through at actual loads and tonnage.
Yes. Jefferson City is about 35 minutes south of Columbia on Highway 63 and is one of our regular areas for residential teardowns, commercial strip-outs and parking lot removal and replacement. Permits there are issued by the city, and the Missouri DNR asbestos inspection applies the same as it does everywhere else. Jefferson City has a lot of older housing stock and mid-century commercial buildings, so abatement coordination comes up more often than it does in newer parts of Columbia. See the Jefferson City page for details.
Most of what we do outside Columbia is small-town and rural: farmhouses, mobile homes, barns, machine sheds and old concrete on acreage in places like Hallsville, Harrisburg, Centralia and Rocheport. Rural jobs are often easier to price because there is room to stage trucks and no neighbor's foundation 10 feet from the wall. The permit office is usually Boone County Resource Management or the equivalent county office, and the electric disconnect often runs through a rural cooperative. Longer hauls to the landfill show up in the disposal pass-through, which we bill at actual tonnage.
