We break out and haul off concrete. Slabs, driveways, sidewalks, patios, pool decks, footings, retaining walls, and the foundations left behind after a teardown. Our Cat 308 with a hydraulic breaker does the breaking, a grapple does the loading, and the loads go to a concrete recycler in Boone County, not a landfill. If you want it poured back, our concrete crew does that on the same contract. One contractor from the first saw cut to the last broom finish.
You get a fixed price for mobilization, equipment and crew. Disposal is billed as a pass-through at actual loads and tonnage, with the recycler's tickets attached to the invoice. Nothing is marked up on the dump side. Typical Mid-Missouri ranges:

Thickness, reinforcement, how close the excavator can get, and the distance to the recycler are what move these numbers. A four-inch patio with a straight shot from the street is the bottom of the range. An eight-inch reinforced shop floor behind a fence with a 30-inch gate is the top. Most people who call about removing a driveway need a driveway when we leave. Our concrete crew pours it back under our contract, with our warranty and their certificate of insurance on file. Base rock, compaction, forms, reinforcement, a proper pour and control joints, broom finish, and seven days of cure before you park on it. Columbia, Jefferson City, Fulton, Moberly, Fayette, Boonville, Ashland and the rest of Mid-Missouri within about 45 minutes of Columbia. Farther out is fine for larger jobs.
A standard two-car driveway of 600 to 800 square feet at four inches thick runs $2,500 to $5,000 to remove, including hauling and recycling. Six-inch reinforced concrete pushes that to $4 to $8 per square foot because it breaks slower and weighs more. The two things that move the price most are reinforcement and access. If the excavator can sit on the driveway and the trucks can back right up to it, you're at the low end.

The scale tickets come with the invoice. We don't mark up the dump side, so there's no reason to guess low on tonnage in the bid.
Yes, almost all of it. Clean concrete goes to a crushing facility in the Columbia area where it becomes base rock for the next project, sometimes ours. It's cheaper per ton than landfill and the recycler doesn't care about rebar as long as it's cut short. Concrete with a lot of soil, asphalt or wood mixed in costs more to dump, which is why we keep loads sorted on site.
Yes. Our concrete crew pours driveways, patios, sidewalks, pads and slabs under our contract and warranty. It's quoted on the same proposal as the removal, so you have one price for the whole job and one company to call. If you'd rather use your own finisher, that's fine too. We'll leave the sub-grade compacted and ready for their forms.
That's what the saw is for. We cut a straight line where the removal meets concrete that stays, whether that's your garage floor, the city sidewalk or a neighbor's driveway, and break away from the cut. The breaker never touches the side you're keeping. On thin slabs we cut full depth; on thick reinforced slabs we cut deep enough to control the fracture and finish the rebar by hand.
A driveway, patio or sidewalk is usually one day on site. A foundation and footings left after a house teardown is two to three days including backfill. Parking lots are phased and take a week or more. Weather matters less than people think; we can break and haul in most conditions, but we won't run trucks across a soft yard and leave you ruts.
Yes. We call Missouri 811 before any cutting or breaking, and we wait the required time for the public utilities to mark. Private lines aren't covered by 811: irrigation, landscape lighting, a buried line to a shop or a well. We walk the site with you before we start so those get flagged. If we hit something nobody knew about, we stop and call you before going further.
About 45 minutes in any direction: Jefferson City, Fulton, Moberly, Fayette, Boonville, Ashland and the towns between. Mobilization is part of the fixed price, so a small job 40 minutes out costs more per square foot than the same job across town. Larger jobs are worth the drive anywhere in Mid-Missouri.
