Boonville is the Cooper County seat, sitting on the south bank of the Missouri River about 30 minutes west of Columbia on I-70. It has one of the oldest downtowns in the state and the river-town housing to match: brick and frame houses from the 1800s on the bluff, a ring of mid-century houses around them, and farm ground in every direction once you leave town. The old houses in Boonville are the heaviest we deal with outside Jefferson City: thick brick walls, limestone foundations, and additions stacked on over 150 years. They come down in sections, not in one push, and the tonnage runs high. In the county the picture is farm buildings and mobile homes on acreage toward Pilot Grove and Bunceton.
Expect 100 tons or more from a two-story brick house with a stone foundation. Brick and clean masonry can often go to a recycler at a lower rate than mixed debris, so we sort it. See the demolition page.
Most Boonville concrete work is residential and farm. Driveway replacement on the hillside lots, where the old drive has cracked into plates and tilted toward the street. Patios, sidewalks, garage slabs and the foundations of buildings that burned or were taken down years ago, all under concrete removal. On farm properties, feed-lot slabs, barn floors and silo pads. Churches and small businesses occasionally need a parking lot broken out and redone, and we handle those too. We do not do concrete leveling or patch repair.
Inside Boonville city limits, demolition permits come from the City of Boonville. Outside the city, check with the county planning office in Boonville before starting; rural Cooper County has limited requirements, but river-bottom ground and county road frontage can add conditions.
Missouri DNR requires an asbestos inspection before demolition of most structures anywhere in the state. Boonville's old houses almost always have regulated material somewhere, and if the inspector finds it, a licensed abatement contractor removes it and DNR gets a 10-working-day notification before we mobilize. We coordinate the inspection, abatement and utility disconnects (electric, gas, water, sewer or septic). We do not perform abatement.
Fixed price for mobilization, equipment and crew. Disposal billed as a pass-through at actual tonnage, $40 to $90 per ton. Mobilization to Boonville is inside the fixed price. A Boonville job needs to be worth the drive, which a teardown, a barn or a mobile home always is and a single small slab usually is not. A site visit turns the estimate into a firm number.

What distance does change is the per-square-foot cost of a small job, since the trip is the same whether we are there for an hour or three days. A house or barn teardown in Cooper County prices about like one in Columbia. A small patio on its own does not, and we will say so before quoting.

Yes. The approach is different from a frame house: walls come down in sections with the excavator thumb, the limestone foundation is broken out with the hydraulic breaker, and the brick is sorted for recycling. It takes a day or two longer than a frame house of the same size and produces two to three times the tonnage, which the proposal accounts for.
